Join us for the official launch of the UNESCO Chair on STEM Education (TRRISE – Transfer of Research Results into STEM Education), taking place at Oteteleseanu Manson, Magurele, Bucarest, Romania on September 24, 2025 from 10:00 – 16:30.

The UNESCO Chair on STEM Education(TRRISE) was established with a clear mission: to bridge the gap between cutting-edge scientific research and the education systems that shape our future generations.   In a world increasingly driven by technological innovation, we believe that access to quality STEM education must be inclusive, forward-looking, and grounded in the latest research and discoveries.

At TRRISE, we are committed to empowering educators, inspiring students, and supporting communities—especially in underserved regions—through transformative learning experiences. Our goal is not only to improve how science and technology are taught, but also to ignite curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for knowledge in every learner.

This landmark initiative will bring together academic excellence, policy insight, and societal commitment to address global sustainability challenges through innovative, transdisciplinary research

Chairholder Mihaela Florea and co-chairholder Andrei Neacsu will lay out the plans for the Chair’s work and the event will include keynote speeches from distinguished guests, presentations on the vision and mission of the Chair, and a roundtable dialogue on the role of research and innovation in building sustainable futures.

💡 Motivation

The organization of the event Creating BONDS for the Future: Building Opportunities through Networks, Dialogue, and Sustainability in Education in view of the official launch of the UNESCO Chair TRRISE – Transfer of Research Results in STEM Education and the Annual Meeting of UNESCO Chairs in Romania responds to the need to create a framework for dialogue and collaboration between academia, public institutions, civil society and international networks.

The event aims to bring together relevant actors to facilitate the transfer of research results to STEM education and to contribute to the formation of knowledge-based, inclusive and equitable societies. Thus, together with INCDFM and CNR UNESCO, the presence of the Ministry of Education through ANC will be of particular importance, and our hope is that this event will become an important moment of a sustainable approach through which the knowledge accumulated by researchers will be transferred to the younger generation.

🎯 Relevance

In the context of global challenges related to sustainability, education and innovation, the event aims to strengthen UNESCO’s role as a promoter of international collaboration and dissemination of good practices. At the same time, the official launch of the UNESCO TRRISE Chair marks an important step in positioning Romania on the international map of educational and scientific initiatives dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

At the same time, the annual meeting of the UNESCO Chairs is important to foresee and decide, at the same time, their future strategy.
